Funny

Threw open the door
Dashed through the sheets of rain for cover
Too late
The paper bag ripped, spilling all its contents
“I suppose you think this is funny?”
The clouds laughed thunderously

They always do
Bastards!
The weather is such a bitch.
It is!
So vivid! Darn those clouds! haha π
Cheers! We get weather like this a lot this side of the water.
Emily comes in and does some cloud wrangling. They part, allowing a shaft of light to come through, and out pops a rainbow. *beam*
Nice one π
Ah! A lovely image π Nice!
Those insenitive boorish clouds! Nice story!
No consideration! π
Ha ha! I like this. I’ve always thought clouds were shifty!
Their shady characters I think! π
Ah! The puns are running rampant! π
Haha! Touche!
The rain never cares.
Though I do wonder if it has a sense of humour.
Whoa, it looks like a cloudy weekend!
Bust that weather open, Joe!
Totally!
The clouds are such jokers & their sister, the rain loves to play spoilsport!;-)Well done Joe:-)
Me going around with a paper bag was too much to miss! Bastards!
Ha!ha!True!
Nice one Joe! Sometimes, I wonder that too. Too bad you can’t smack ’em good!
The chinese are looking at ways of controlling them, it’s surprisingly low tech!
Good job, Joe!
Thank you!
durned clouds!
Indeed!
Haha! They clouds laughed until they cried…which makes re-bagging groceries even more fun π
Oh! So much fun!
That’ll be me for sure too asking that question to the clouds.. π Nicely done..
Thanks!
nice!
Thanks!
that lightening-struck me as quite witty, Joe π
You can go to jail for a horrible joke like that!
This is great! Terrific take on the prompt.
Thanks!
I love this – wonderful imagery! Evil clouds.
Indeed! Thanks!
Those darn clouds! Always laughing at the wrong moment!
I think from their point of view it was the perfect moment! π
Thanks for reading and commenting.
I love it. I love the concept of clouds laughing instead of crying – and thunderously. Very nice.
Thanks for reading.
Nice! Favourite line: The clouds laughed thunderously. Damned rain, they almost always find the perfect time for a downpour. It’s okay now and then for a shower (when one is warm and dry) but you folks have it a lot over there don’t you?
No downpours. More a constant drizzle! More depressing in my opinion.
I laughed thunderously with the clouds… I didn’t know there were any paper bags left in the world… I thought they were all plastic. π
Blessings to you,
Cheryl
We have to use them. There is a tax on plastic ones!
A great piece of writing. What is it with these clouds – I’ve got some right now, smiling, just waiting for me to step out the door.
Ditto! They have it in for me!
Yup! You nailed it. Especially as we move into spring-ish time.
Spring-ish! Sounds about right!
Yep. Pretty sure I’ve been the object of that laughter. Perhaps more than once.
I think we all have!
Happened to me yesterday and the clouds always laugh.
They must hate us!
I have always said Mother Nature is sadistic.
Agreed!
Wicked sense of humor, those clouds… good one… I laughed too!
Thanks!
haha you’ve got a way of making me laugh! good post π
Thank you!
The clouds and I have an ongoing competition – who can outrun the other? The clouds usually win.
Sad but true!
You know, Dublin sounds an awful lot like Portland, Oregon – we also have constant drizzle and a ban on plastic bags. π
Oh My! How dreadful!
I find myself angrier at the betrayal of inanimate objects than with humans. You’re a paper bag! Just do your job!!
Ye cannae break the laws of physics! Wet paper will rip!
Haha this was funny haha
Thank you!
