About
Hello! I have been getting into storytelling and composition over the two years or so, the occasional live performance, and one or two works published. I just wanted to get my stuff out there and to see what people thought of it. Comments and criticisms are welcome.
Cheers
Joe
P.S. I also have a Blog of Poetry which I will probably update a lot more than this available here http://joe2poetry.wordpress.com/
P.P.S. I did publish a short story when I was a student. It is available here, enjoy.
Joe I’ve just had a lovely time reading your stories as I ate my breakfast a world away in Melbourne, Australia.
I’ve been to Ireland a few times, had a friend in Clondalkin who died 3years ago and another friend in Athlone. I made my final trip with my husband In December, 2008. Seven months after that trip my darling husband died, and without him my travelling days are done.
My mother’s family were Cudmores. I’m the descendant of one of three brothers who came to Australia in the 19th century and have experienced a sense of coming home each time I’ve visited Ireland.
Throw a coin in the Liffey for me next time your passing.
Thanks for the stories
Tricia
Thanks! I’ll do that.
You’re among the first ever recipients of the Flower Award.
Haha, I promised “Flower” I’d let her do all the comments for that post, but that was the best laugh I’ve had in days. I tried learning a little bit of Gaelic. About all I remember is how to sort of pronounce ta me mhór. I actually wrote a couple of lines of it into one of my stories. Anyway, thanks for the laugh!
The man’s got books! Get ’em here, folks 😉 :

I have nominated you for the Sunshine and Versatile Blogger awards. Reading your stories has helped me both as a person and as a writer.
If I may intrude, Joe . . . hey, everyone reading this comment, now go read Joe’s latest publication, “Practical Alchemy,” in the Spring 2015 issue of The Ghouls’ Review (http://www.grammarghoulpress.com/the-ghouls-review/spring-2015/). Fantasy aficionados, Pratchett fans (as if the first two don’t naturally go together), science and medical editors who need a good laugh: you won’t be disappointed!
Thanks for the plug!
Hey Joe, I came across this site and I just thought you might be interested in submitting some stuff maybe. I know you’re interested in science fiction, etc., so maybe you have some 100 word stories lying around that you’d like to send them.

😉
Thanks for that. Just sent something now.
You’re welcome Joe. Let me know if they publish you, I’d be interested to read.
Hey Joe, I came across this and thought it might be something you’re interested in. Thought it was relevant and applicable:

Hi, Joe–putting this here, in case you’re interested (presuming you’re over age 18! 🙂 ): http://scifimedhums.glasgow.ac.uk/writing-competition/
That sounds interesting. I had a medical type story in my latest anthology (Available now) that I used from my blog https://joe2stories.wordpress.com/2013/12/01/picture-it-and-write-the-father-of-a-nation/ there are always plenty to use.
I figured so, what with your scientific mind at work! Hope to see you winning this Glasgow competition, Dr. JG. (Do be sure to also ck out Apex’s flash-fiction contest; deadline’s coming soon, 16 Nov. E-mail me if you want details & can’t find online). Cheers…
