The World is Alive
by joetwo
9pm. Mom calls me in.
The sun’s up and the air is swarming with insects.
The whole world’s alive. I want to experience a little more.
“Can’t I stay out ten more minutes?”

Lovely… Makes me nostalgic. All the summer vacations as a kid :d
Thanks! It was good to remember!
ahh definitely reminiscent of my youth. now, I can’t stand it. 🙂
I’m glad it brought memories to you.
Summer always meant that the limits were loosened, but not removed.
Very true!
I remember that feeling exactly. Even now I love hearing the raucousness of the kids in our neighborhood staying up “way past bedtime.” I sit out in the backyard on warm nights just to listen and feel young again. 🙂
It was a great time!
Perfectly captures it. The experience of summer as a kid is the purest version of it, without a doubt
Absolutely!
Ahhhh. . .I remember these days. Please? Ten more?? Thanks for linking up with this bit of nostalgia. Don’t forget to come back and vote.
Will do!
Beautiful! Summer is, for children, a time of “experiencing more”…and an endless request for 10 more minutes, and another 10…
I remember the requests a lot!
Lovely! Brought me right back to childhood.
Thanks Suzanne!
I remember those sorts of summers too. Outside until the street lights turn on.
Yes! The memories!
Perfect childhood summer night description. One of the high points of this life! 😀 Well done.
Thanks Linda!
Love! I remember not being ready to let go of the day yet.
It was such a joy to be out side! Thanks for reading!
Ah, catching fireflies and looking at the stars and basically just enjoying the cool summer nights…This is nice 😀
Thanks Draug!
Ten more minutes. When I was a kid, it was be in the house before nightfall. When the streetlamps came on, we would be rushing home. Sweet memories. Well done.
In Ireland the summer sun does not set until close to ten. Too late when you’re really young. Thanks for reading!
On to be a child and gaze with wonder on the world once again….just to cleanse away all the hardness of life from your eyes..Good picture Joe.
Thank you!
Just ten more minutes – the cry of my childhood! Lovely reminiscences…
Thanks Freya!
‘It’s not dark yet’ never worked! Nice one, Joe.
Thanks Kymm!
